Tianbao Intelligent Transmission Unveils New Sliding Seal for Wind Power Main Shaft Systems, Addressing Industry Sealing Challenges with Wear-Resistant and Friction-Reducing Technology

      Proper lubrication of wind turbine main bearings is critical. It reduces friction and wear, extends fatigue life, dissipates heat, and prevents the ingress of contaminants. At present, most wind turbine main shafts rely on traditional lip seals. Under continuously varying loads and harsh operating environments, grease and oil leakage still occur from time to time. In severe cases, insufficient bearing lubrication accelerates wear and significantly shortens service life. It may also lead to abnormal noise and vibration, causing issues such as shaft wear and bearing ring creep. In addition, grease and oil leakage can contaminate equipment and the surrounding environment, while slippery oil residues during maintenance pose safety risks to on-site personnel.

· Advanced wear-resistant and friction-reducing sealing materials:The sealing material features a low friction coefficient and self-lubricating properties, reducing wear at the source. Through material modification and reinforcement, it achieves exceptionally high wear resistance. In addition, the material is non-flammable, UV resistant, hydrophobic and oleophobic, and chemically stable against acids and alkalis, enabling reliable performance under a wide range of demanding operating conditions.

· Innovative sealing structure design:A segmented, split-type configuration greatly facilitates on-site installation, maintenance, and replacement, significantly reducing operational complexity. The unique combined sealing structure forms a multi-level protective barrier that effectively blocks the ingress of external contaminants and moisture. Furthermore, an integrated gravity return or active oil return system ensures that any leaked lubricant is efficiently collected, preventing leakage at its source.

· Self-adaptive elastic adjustment mechanism: The seal body adopts a high-stiffness, deformation-resistant design and incorporates built-in compression springs that continuously and automatically adjust the contact force between the sealing lip and the main shaft. Even after long-term operation and minor wear, the sealing interface maintains optimal contact, delivering long-lasting and reliable sealing performance.
